Benefits of MAVCC Membership (What’s in it for me?)
- Each member state selects a representative to serve on the MAVCC Board of Directors, and the Board determines the direction of MAVCC, including establishing priorities for curriculum development. Your state has an equal voice in decisions. All expenses are paid for board members to attend board meetings.
- Member state industry/business/labor representatives and educators participate on advisory committees to help plan and validate instructional materials. All expenses are paid for committee members to attend curriculum meetings.
- Instructional materials developed by MAVCC are offered at up to 50% off non-member prices, and
- Reflect the competency-based concepts that (1) Performance objectives are specified prior to instruction, (2) Cognitive information and psychomotor activities are developed to support the objectives, and (3) A criterion-referenced evaluation system is used to measure a student’s competency
- Can help develop program uniformity
- Can assist in establishing articulation agreements between secondary and postsecondary institutions
